I had my first matcha latte in 2020 and since then it’s been my favorite drink in the mornings. I alternate between that, black coffee, or tea but there’s just something special about the mornings that I have a matcha drink. It feels like I’m giving my body the energy it needs with the added bonus of all the health benefits that come from matcha.
Matcha is rich in antioxidants and has been studied and found to improve brain function, heart health, and aids in weight loss. Aside from being so good for you, it tastes good!
And lately I’ve been experimenting with new ways to incorporate matcha into my mornings. Below is a recent breakfast favorite to try if you’re looking to mix things up in your breakfast rotation.

Makes 1 serving
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of milk
- ¼ cup of oatmeal
- 1 cup of spinach
- 2 dates
- 1 banana
- 1 tablespoon of almond butter
- 1 tablespoon of matcha powder
- 1 tablespoon of ground flax seed
- A dash of cinnamon
- Blend all ingredients together. Adjust sweetness by removing/adding more dates or honey.
