Hi, I’m Ally, the founder and principal designer of Semrau Ave Home. I create thoughtful, welcoming homes that feel elevated, personal, and ready to be lived-in, while quietly handling the details that would otherwise take up your time and energy.
Before starting my own design firm, I spent five years in corporate finance, managing budgets, timelines and complex moving pieces, where clarity, organization and efficiency really mattered. At the same time, I was renovating my own home, learning firsthand how overwhelming the process can feel without a clear plan guiding each decision.
Which is why I created a thoughtful, structured approach to every project. Each step is handled with care, and even the inevitable hiccups are managed calmly, so you can trust that your home will come together exactly as it should.
Because the reality is, you likely already have a sense of what you like. You simply don’t have the time to manage the countless decisions and details to bring it all to life. That’s where I come in. I take the time to understand you and your family, creating a home that supports your every day and tells your story.
The Design Experience

Start by completing our inquiry form and sharing a bit about your space and goals. From there, we’ll review your project and invite you to schedule a discovery call to ensure we’re the right fit.

We begin with a Discovery Call to get to know you and your home. This conversation allows us to understand your lifestyle, your vision, and what’s most important to you in your space.
We’ll walk you through our process, answer your questions, and explore how we can best support your project. While we may discuss overall direction, this call is focused on alignment, ensuring we’re the right fit before moving into the design phase.

If your project feels aligned after our Discovery Call, we’ll invite you to move forward with a paid Initial Consultation.
Ahead of our meeting, you’ll complete a design questionnaire so we can better understand your lifestyle, preferences, and the vision for your home.
This is where the design process begins. We have an in-depth hour long working session focused on your space, where we offer direction, explore possibilities, and begin shaping a clear path forward.
For local clients, consultations may take place in your home or via Zoom. For virtual clients, consultations are held via Zoom.

Following your consultation, we’ll prepare a tailored design proposal outlining the scope of your project, design investment, and next steps.
This proposal reflects a thoughtful plan for your home, ensuring alignment before moving into the design phase. Once approved, we begin developing your full design presentation.

We schedule a dedicated time to present your thoughtfully developed design.
During this presentation, we walk you through a cohesive plan for your space, including space planning, elevations, 3D renderings, and curated selections of furnishings, fixtures, and finishes, each chosen to reflect your vision and support the way you live.
This is a collaborative review where we explain key decisions, answer questions, and gather your feedback.
Following the presentation, you’ll have a two-week revision period to request any adjustments, ensuring every detail feels aligned before finalization.

Once your design is finalized, you’ll receive your complete design package with everything needed to bring your space to life.
This includes final selections, sourcing details, and clear guidance for implementation.
Full-Service Clients: We manage ordering, coordinate with vendors, and oversee installation, ensuring a seamless and well-executed result.
Virtual Design Clients: You’ll implement your design at your own pace using your curated plan and shopping links, with support available as needed.

Our support continues beyond the final design.
We remain available to guide you through implementation, answer questions, and assist with any final details as your space comes together.
