In the past, when I would decorate for spring, I tended to lean into Easter decor. I still like the idea of decorating for holidays, but I’ve been finding myself gravitating towards pieces that can last a longer time and carry my spaces from one season to another with only a few minor swaps here and there. So, this spring when I thought about the color palette and direction I wanted to take the space, I knew I wanted to pick a few versatile and impactful pieces.
In my living room, I started out by swapping out my dark, blackout curtains for some lighter, linen ones with a beautiful blue floral pattern throughout. I also purchased a new straight curtain bar to go all the way across all four windows in here and raised it as high as I could. Doing this draws your eyes up and makes a room feel bigger.

Next, in my entryway I created a beautiful floral arrangement using faux florals I already had and mixing in some real dried baby’s breath. This was also a good chance for me to mix it up with my books, so I swapped out an emerald green book for a lighter green one.

Moving into the kitchen, I continued using florals but this time in shades of pink and green. Just changing out my kitchen hand towels, switching out my big winter coffee mugs for lighter floral tea cups, and bringing in more floral arrangements made a huge difference! Being in the kitchen also gives you the opportunity to have fun with the way you display fruits, veggies, or baked goods. A bowl of bright, yellow lemons or a cake stand with some fresh blueberry muffins can go a long way.

Now, my next project to tackle as spring turns into summer will be creating a beautiful, indoor herb garden and maybe some window boxes.
